Wilstead SBG20/600 Cheque Book Finishing Line for Security Print Finishing

The SBG20/600 Stitcher-Binder-Guillotine is an automated cheque book finishing line, specifically developed for use in the security print industry. It is designed as a modular unit comprising an automated stitching and binding unit and an automated guillotine unit. A stitching/guillotine unit is also available.

Whilst the SBG20/600 is specifically designed for the production of cheque books, other applications include dockets, vouchers, lottery tickets, raffle tickets, manuals, pads etc.

• Productivity: up to 3,000 books per hour.
• Book thickness: 1mm to 20mm
• Input document size: 150mm to 500mm long, 165mm to 305mm wide
• Output document size: 105mm to 300mm spine to fore edge, 58mm to 500mm head to tail.
• Two Hohner or Bostitch stitching heads are fitted as standard, but up to five stitching heads can be fitted on a single stitcher unit.
• Book size changeover in less than five minutes.
• Stitch and cut position accurate to 0.2mm.
• Display panel advises the operator of book size selected, font, folio trim option, intetrim option, number of books in folio, position of stitching heads, together with the total folios/books produced
• Full diagnostic facilities fitted as standard.
• Extensive safety features.
• Manual feed or optional folio feeders and high speed camera feeding/reading unit available.

The following video shows the SBG20/600 operating offline with manual feed. Please note that the safety features have been temporarily disabled in order to demonstrate the internal operation of the machine.

Optional extras include

• Folio feeders are available with the capacity of holding up to 39 pre-collated folios, allowing one operator the freedom to also stock/box output stock.
• Automatic high-speed camera feeding and reading unit for security printing. The unit reads every single cheque and cover to ensure that the cheque numbering and name of the customer are correct.
• Barcode reading cameras can be fitted at both the input and output stages of the finishing process.
